I've spent 20+ years building technology that changes how humans interact with computers. Co-founded Orbbec (IPO'd). Founded the OpenKinect community. Wrote the book on natural user interfaces. Now I'm at Amazon working on AI and inclusive technology.
What I've learned: the hard part isn't building AI. It's thinking clearly about it.
What I Teach
Most AI training teaches tools. I teach judgment.
- How to know when AI is helping vs. hallucinating
- How to stay in the loop without becoming a bottleneck
- How to lead through uncertainty without pretending you have all the answers
